- Maintenance Engineer required in Widnes - £16.70 per hour
Our client, a leader in their industry are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team at their site in Widnes.
Your role will primarily be reactive/fault finding and planned maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities- Preventive Maintenance: Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
- Reactive Maintenance: Diagnose and repair equipment failures.
- Troubleshooting: Utilise technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to understand equipment performance and support operational needs.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory.
- Education: diploma in Mechanical Engineering (additional Electrical Engineering skills would be an advantage) Relevant certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, apprenticeship/time served) are advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical fault finding reactive maintenance essential
- Experience: Chemical sector or ATEX/COMAH site experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to health and safety practices and promoting a culture of safety.
Hours of work Monday to Friday working 8am until 4.45pm (2.30pm on a Friday)
The rate of pay is £16.70 per hour
